Completely missed the point. The idea is, unlearned shooters often mistakenly try to improve their equipment before improving their own skills. This leads to people using low mass or other proprietary assemblies without even understanding their function.

The idea that less recoil is not better is absurd.
Nobody ever got shot climbing over the wall into East Berlin.

This one had just over 5K on it when I pulled it apart to clean it. It was in the demo carbine we built for the Atlanta PD Firearms Training Unit for evaluation. They were not doing any periodic cleaning or light lube as we recommended. It took me less than 5 minutes with a tooth brush and rag to get it very clean. I don't have more detailed pics as I took this during the course I was teaching.

Looks like it wears well! When it does wear through, does it flake or peel?

I don't know because we haven't see it yet. I think ROBAR has been doing NP3 for over 20 years or so. One would think that any major issues would have revealed themselves at this point.

That pic was taken in April or May when I taught the class with APD SWAT and FTU. That rifle is still in use and has probably 8K or so on it.

I've got an 11.5" upper in the shop with about 13k on it, ran suppressed 80% of the time on a full auto lower. I will snap some pics Monday or Tuesday.

I'm still partial to proper spec'd hard chrome on carriers. That doesn't mean that ROBAR NP3 is bad, just partial to HC.
Cam pins are a subject onto themselves. Hard chrome can be a good solution, but it is really dependent on many things.
HC is more involving and increases costs that may or may not be a benefit overall for an end user.

When everything is done right, or as close to correctly as possible, IonBond DLC over hard chrome can be impressive.
Many times I've looked into different coatings, but so far I always seem to fall back to regular park or hard chrome, depending on things. Park is soft and forgiving, hard chrome is hard and lasts well.
