    A2 buffer/receiver extension tube torque spec?

    Is their a torque spec for the buffer/receiver extension tube for an A2 with fixed butt stock?

    35-39 foot pounds and don't forget the moly grease.

    The torque spec Iraqgunz posted is for the carbine castle nut.

    There was a change in one of the MWO's but I don't know where it is now.

    Dang, really?! I just installed a rifle receiver extension a few weeks ago and it seemed like a lot of torque even at 35 foot pounds.

    It is, and the same applies to the carbine which is why I generally advise people to not overthink the whole torque thing.

    I have always just got mine as tight as they would go with the castle nut spanner wrench. Seems to work that way.

    You also have to remember that the torque listed in the manual is the torque read on the torque wrench when used in conjunction with the US Army issue combination wrench.

    If you look at how the various tools fit together, the actual applied torque for the A2 RE will be less than what is read on the torque wrench and the torque for the castle nut will be more than what is read on the torque wrench....
