Hey, I don't have enough posts to participate in General Discussion but I thought I'd pass this on.

I'm an occasional participant in a paleontology-focused skype chat along with a number of European members and upon hearing the news from Paris I felt I just had to see what these guys were saying.
I will share that these young Europeans' response to the Paris attacks has consisted of this so far:

- Not wanting to "jump to conclusions" about the perpetrators being Islamic.
- Concern that if the perpetrators are Islamic will help far right political parties gain power.
- Complaining that this will trigger more anti-refugee bias.
- Suggesting that this is no big deal because it happens all the time in Syria, and "1st world" countries overreact when it happens to them.


I need to get some better online associates........

In a vile 'message' directed towards the people of France, the masked militant spoke in perfect French before brutally executing a Syrian army prisoner by shooting him in the head.

Ranting wildly into the high-definition camera used to record the execution video, the fanatic told listeners that ISIS 'loves death like you love life' and encouraged the group's supporters to continue to plot and carry out further terror attacks in the European country...

This really won't stop until they are gone.

Cruelty only understands cruelty. If Putin wanted to permanently choke Syrian skies tonight with Sarin gas or if the Germans wanted to fire up the ovens and call it "Refugee Relocation Relief", or if every Frenchman took to hovels and tenements with firebombs and guns where these bastards laid their heads tonight; they would have my full support. I'm not rich but if I KNEW it would happen, I'd wire at least some money.
