    Ezzackly.

These people are literally at war with my cultural system, and my civilization.

If I don't like that, and somehow that makes me a "racist" so be it.

I'm pretty sure the left is so far off its rocker that, if aliens zipped in from outer space and started hitting cities with death-rays, we'd all suddenly become xenophobic "taxists" and "speciesists."

**** them. My God, **** them all.

Speaking for myself, I don't give a shit about Beirut, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, nor even the little Pygmies down in New Guinea. Civilized Society is being attacked. Places and people who matter are being attacked, and something has got to be done to ameliorate this untoward wave of...well...heathen bullshit.

We have to be smarter than those who want to lump it all in as "Islamic Terror" and not keep score.

This notion that we can somehow use Al Qaeda against the secular nationalist government of Syria and then turn them loose on ISIS is bat shit insane.

It's like the son of Bin Laden put on deodorant, brushed his teeth and said, "The Free Syrian Army needs weapons so we can fight our common enemy Assad!" and we immediately started training, equipping, arming, and funding them.

There is absolutely no such thing as "The Free Syrian Army" and "Division 20" is just a property account to facilitate the transfer of all the loot we're sending to AQ.

We must preserve secular governance where it exists.

We must fight ALL active Jihadis.
    Good post Kev.

What is the long term strategy for the ME? Strong men can run those countries, but to call Syria and Iran 'secular' is a pretty thin stretch. Granted, most of their military moves (I'm thinking Syria in Lebanon for the past 30+ years) is more nation-state then theocracy driven, but it is a component. They seem more secular mainly in the light of the next terrorist that comes along. From the PLO to AQ to ISIS, this vector is definately heading is a darker direction.

Jordan's leader and country seems to be headed in the right direction. Strong-men are only a band-aid solution and punting the problem. What is the long term strategy for more inclusive and modern ME countries? Are you saying that these countries are incapable of that kind of transition, ever?

My view has been that they'll have to have a Thirty Years War level kind of conflict to force the populations to come to grip with the theocracy based conflicts. Maybe ISIS is the catalyst for that kind of reckoning. They think that they can win the end game.

    Your thoughts?

Not Kev, but my thoughts on an inclusive and modern ME are **** them and their goats until THEY come to the conclusion that being inclusive is the way to go. There is NO US or EU strategy that will make them believe that they need to abandon their faith and become inclusive. Most everyone in the ME has the same mentality. Some like the Saudi's hide it from public purview and only finance the haji mentality. Others aren't as well groomed and blatantly voice they opinions (AQ, ISIS/L,...).

They see a weakness and are attacking it. Our desire to be sensitive and multicultural and inclusive and all that shit is a weakness to them. They see it as an invitation to attack and are doing so in different ways. The refugees entering EU and the USA and will drain the economies. The funded insurgents around Asscrackistan and Iraq and wherever entangle our forces and drain our economies. Have been actively doing so on a large scale since 1991. Their terrorists will engage local LEO/EM services and drain local economies. This is a war and you dont win a war by hugging your enemy and having an empathy party.

We should have distanced ourselves from them as much as humanly possible and let them lead the lives they want. So long as they are contained and killing each other they pose little problem for the USA and our interests. Unfortunately Merkel and her idiotic ilk have opened pandora's box with that whole contain policy. Osama has doubled down on the stupid and eagerly allowed these assholes access to the USA. Pretty soon long term ME strategy will be overshadowed by short term strategies for our cities. How do we float our economies, stop our kids from being raped, concerts from being bombed.

The west needs to put the fear of Allah or whatever deity into these people. The mere thought of any crazy stunts that hurt western interest should elicit a self defecation moment for anyone within a 5 mile radius of the thought. That they would understand, but we dont have the balls or guts to complete, much less even contemplate.

It wasn't directed at you in any way. You were making a good point that I totally agree with. I was directing it at the "I'm above it all" crowd who want to be mad, but think it's cooler to be mad at someone other than the people that everyone else is mad at right now.
