Anyway, this is realpolitik. Only the national interest matters.

Educate yourself on the Situation and try not to deal in hand waves and same-o's. Sometimes discussing the War on here is like trying to explain car engines to a German Shepherd. The future of our civilization depends on people's ability to analyze information, call BS when they see it, and support/ plan and execute operations that lead to favorable outcomes.

We can't afford to fall for propaganda anymore- and thankfully for all of mankind, in the information age it's very, very hard to keep a secret anymore.
Because I figured your next step was to drag Reagan into the GWB-hate. You seem to think that you're sooo enlightened but there are quite a few vets on here (from the timeframe you've served in) that don't see things your way. Wonder why that is? Are they all just uneducated dolts who need to simply hang it up? You're insider perspective isn't the only one out there; lots of guys "in the know" who don't sing the same tune as you. Sad, because some of what you say isn't far off the mark, but some of it.......

Nope. In the future though, let's have a discussion instead of making assumptions about what each other is going to say next. I can only assume that was the source of our miscommunication.

Anyway, there's only one bad boy list Hezbollah is still on, and that's the DoS FTOs:

Barring anything exciting, it won't be there in 5 years... regardless of who wins the next election.

(We do live in interesting times though...)

Not GWB hate, it is Israel hate.

He said himself they shared members...

In the case of Shia radicals the enemy of my enemy is not our friend.

Kev thinks it is in America's best interest for the Jews to be pushed into the sea.

Taking Israel out of the picture would simplify matters considerably. That being said I don't think it's ever going to happen. There are far too many people of Jewish descent in very high places to ever allow us to leave the Israelis on their own.

Not. You think that we are hated by Islamists because we are friends with Israel? Taken a look at France and Europe's attitude toward Israel lately? Wholesale buy of Hamas propaganda hasn't stopped them from being slaughtered.
Nevermind the whole shia/sunni mess existing independent of us too.

I believe it plays a role. How much is impossible to know. However, not having to worry about the security of an ally in the region would simplify our policy choices in the middle east.

I don't think that anyone I've read on this forum believes that the Jews should be pushed into the sea.

I am not a fan of the Israeli government, I remember the Liberty, and I've read enough history to understand why things happen the way they do.

Just because someone doesn't drink the ADL kool aid doesn't mean they are an anti-semite.

My stance is, we have been a better friend to the Israeli government, than they have been to us.

We must ensure the state of Israel's continued existence - on the other hand, we must stop allowing them to leading us around by the nose and dictating our foreign policy - that is not God's decree, as many of you seem to think.

Take a look at anyone's feelings towards Israel... shit, Netanyahu has a warrant out for his arrest in Spain.

They turned themselves into a pariah state, not anyone else.

Let me tie it all together and then we can move on- we live in the information age, it's impossible to sell the same BS you could just 15 years ago. People who do not adapt to modern times can't understand this and that's why their old bag of tricks are useless. This frustrates them and leads them to become angry (or they just brush it off and dismiss it like Putin).

As we dismissed the Budapest Memorandum and watched Ukraine shrink, so should we dismiss all old obligations and entitlement relationships and weigh all things at current value.

ISIS isn't the only threat, they just happen to be at the forefront at the moment.
