Magpul makes excellent equipment at a great price point. That's why they are doing so well. How did you misinterpret that to mean they make cheap ignorant crap for the masses? Those were your words, not mine. A company can easily make quality kit at good prices.

Crying like a little kid? Changing my tune? Not so hotshot. My post was quite simple: The market does not support a $250 BUIS set right now. John Hwang is obviously interested in boutique products (just look at the gun in the youtube video) why the hell would I care? I'm not even in the market for BUIS - I'm just posting my opinion that a $250 price point is high. What the hell is it to you anyway?

Overall quality of posting seems to have gone down as it seems to become acceptable for people to just bitch on this board. It is a shame.

I can't afford these sights, and doubt I will end up with them unless John sends them to me as a present. That doesn't mean I will cry about it or trash talk them. I can't afford to buy a KAC complete carbine, I don't run around complaining about KAC. After years of wanting one, I have been finally able to trade parts and items to end up with a KAC, and still isn't the actual model I want. I'm not crying about that either, I'll work on getting it into the way I want, regardless of how long it takes. I don't cry or complain about the vehicles I own either, though I surely would like to own nicer ones.

Quoted again just to show you have no idea what you are talking about, and how quickly you changed your tune on Magpul as well.

It's been obvious for quite some time that Rainier is shooting to be a "boutique" shop and they carry some top notch quality stuff that other places don't. It's one of my favorite gunshops and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Yes, $250 is a bit much for a set of BUIS, but then again, I think nearly all AR iron sights are on the pricey side. I've advocated that shooter should learn to use iron sights, but the more I use an Aimpoint Micro and see how reliable it is coupled with the cost of iron sights, the more inclined I am to forego the extra cost of BUIS and put that money towards optics.

There are features I like about these new sights. I like that it has the two different diameter apertures and that the larger one folds completely out of the way. The small aperture is more precise for zeroing and the larger aperture is faster and easier for my aging eyes to see through. I like iron sight that are easy for me to adjust for windage and elevation. I'm sure there are neophyte shooters that are better off with fixed sights because they can't resist the temptation to fiddle with things, but I am long past that stage and I know enough that getting sights back on zero isn't that difficult or time consuming.

Bottom line is, they look to be nice sights with good features but we won't know how they do until they've been on the market for awhile. A for that guy in the video wanting sets for all three of his ARs, he'll get them. He's part of the friendly & helpful staff at Rainier.

I also think we should all take a step back and breathe deeply before Serious Student has to bulldog us

I spend four years in school studying austrian and comparative economics, earning HB Econ, and laugh as someone claiming to speak as an, "economist" writes a little blather about how there's no viable market for prime product. Rainier Arms itself wouldn't exist if that were true.

It's too bad Troy and Diamondhead didn't have you around to advise them not to market their BUIS sets.

These look real nice, expensive - like KAC micros, but nice. As far as value goes I don't think KAC or this new offering from RA can beat Magpul MBUS Pros, but these do look solid. Though the way the front sight post adjusts does not look as robust as the MBUS Pro front or KAC micro at a cursory glance.

Maybe I'll have to buy a set of these after all. Just to be a big baller. Plus they do look nice.
