    Sort of a retro

Here is some semi-old school goodness. A few weeks ago, I picked up an old school AR. It has a pre-ban Bushmaster upper (D K marked C7 upper and 14.5" B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 H BAR) and a late ban-era DPMS lower with a 4-pos. mil-spec stock. I recently had a BCM A2X FH pinned and welded on the 14.5" barrel to make it a legal non-NFA length. When I bought the AR, it had an AK-74 type muzzle brake pinned on it. It also came with the SureFire M500A Car15 / M4 Carbine Tactical Dedicated Forend Flashlight and the Aimpoint carrying handle mount. I recently mounted the Aimpoint Comp M2. Took it to the range this morning and it worked great.

    Very nice! I like it.

Does that mount give lower third co-witness?

Not really. The Aimpoint sits about a 1/8" to 3/16" too high for lower 1/3 co-witness. The red-dot sits about 1/8" above the FSP.
