out of curiosity where does it state the BEAST is for 1500 meters?

I love these type of arguments. that's like me wanting a car for work... get the nice Camary, Accord or I can drive a Mercedes AMG or Porsche. .. but the Porsche and Mercedes has too much horespower!

when have you ever complained that you had too much zoom? or horsepower? unless you are racing and aren't skilled in running a car with a lot of horsepower...

if you have more zoom the better, or magnification, you get the point. if you have a 5x25 just set the magnification to 16 then. .. I will be on 25 you can be on 16

The amount of adjustment, magnification and field of view dictates the possible range... 30+ mil

We test optics for the .gov...

If you want a +40oz scope on a 5.56 rifle that has a max range of 1000m that is your business, but it is unnecessary and ridiculous.

of course it's unnecessary. didn't recommend the BEAST, Government tester...

and yes its ridiculous, but for me it works. I prefer it over my EO Techs, ACOGs etc...

I prefer to have 1 or 2 really nice scopes and use then on all my rifles. no point in throwing money away for glass every time you buy a long gun. if you have it and it works, why not?

back to the OP, never suggested the BEAST. of I did then I can see your point.
I only run the BEAST on my long range AR.. I run it with my DTA , .308's etc.. no point in buying a cheap VX3 for a AR to take at distance.

for your use I think you would really dig the viper PST FFP Line better.

It is a little more, but for that cost you get everything the others have + parallax, turrets and some milling

The PST crosshairs are also .2 like the Leupold.
