    Feed ramp misalignment

    Built this upper yesterday...

The feed ramps are mis-aligned, and I have serious concerns about feeding issues. Would you concur this is too mismatched to be reliable?

    Upper: Vltor MUR
Barrel: LaRue Stealth w/ M4 feed ramps

    Thanks,
    NC

    Need a bigger pic.
My brother saw Deliverance and bought a Bow. I saw Deliverance and bought an AR-15.

As long as the barrel extension(locking lugs) doesn't overhang the receiver itself, it should be fine.

    Try it and see.

I'd probably not worry too much about it as long as the bolt enters the extension with plenty of clearance and locks up, if the bolt does not enter the extension then you have some seriously out of spec parts. Otherwise as long as the M4 feed ramps on the barrel extension are not protruding past the M4 cuts in upper receiver I doubt you will have any issues.

that barrel extension looks horrible... but should function fine as long as the extension is recessed compared to the receiver.

The bolt appears to lock into the extension with no issue, however, at the location where the left side (right side in the picture) feed ramp mates with the barrel extension m, I can feel the extension, causing a slight "lip"...this is my concern, that there may be a feed issue where the bullet tip catches the lip.

Yeah, kind of disappointed to see that kind of sloppy work on a $400+ barrel....

By "lip" do you mean that the extension in that location protrudes past the M4 feed ramp cut in the upper receiver?

If so your upper is out of spec, or the barrel extension is out of spec.

You think the extension in the part that is out of spec? I can't really tell with the "eye test" myself...

I suppose I can pull the barrel off and try it on another upper

Does anyone have a measurement or spec for the feed ramps of the upper and barrel extension?
