Correct. In fact the ones that seem to come loose are the ones that use shitty blocks (like aluminum, no threadlocker, no dimpling, etc..)

That really surprises me to be honest. I have seen hundreds of their uppers over the years (as well as building a few myself) and have never seen a factory one that was not Loctited.

Heck, I got one upper from BCM that didn't even have any Red Loctite on the screws, nor were they torqued properly. Always pays to check your equipment yourself, as the final QC.

Well I was the unlucky feller that gone one... they promptly warrantied, however the replacement upper they sent had out-of-spec (i.e. Loose) keymod slots, and also had to be warrantied. Two warrantied Uppers in a row, from BCM.

There is another thread out there similar to this one. I had the same issue as the op but ended up successfully removing the set screws. Twisted several Allen keys into spirals prior. I did not find bob smith uncure sufficient by itself. Next time I will start with a 24hr soak in uncure. Then put the hobby torch to it to about 415* farhenhight (checked with laser thermometer) and torque it off with a quality 3/32 hex 1/4" drive bit in a t-drive. I stripped the 3/32 bit from a cheepo kit and found that the tight fit and superior metal of these were helpful: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
