I get ya, and I bet the Sionics is a helluva rifle. But, I tend to stick with the more well known MFGs (even if it means I miss out in hidden gems). I wish all the success to you guys over there, but until my agency makes a better Policy regarding personally owned guns, Colt it is.

I have one of these arriving at my ffl on Friday. It was $1172 or so shipped from tsswarehouse.com. I also have 15" centurion cmr mlok rail on the way to instantly replace the 12", as I really wanted the extra real estate and purely aesthetically, I like the way a 15" rail looks ona 16" barrel as opposed to the 12".

Hope to put 1-200rds through it this long weekend coming up...

Good showing, but why did this take them so long? They should have had a similar rifle out in 2007

Because Colt didn't care about civilian customers. They only wanted the big .mil $$$.

That decision cost them their company.

They are way to late to market to attempt to regain a footing now. Shop elsewhere and spend money with companies who actually care about civilians.

Why would I not buy excellent quality firearms made by Colt because of management decisions they made in the past that were not ideal in regards to the commercial market? That attitude would be understandable if they were turning out crap or had poor customer service but that isn't the case. Colt devoted their manufacturing capacity largely to .gov/.mil contracts to arm our military during the last decade and a half of conflict. Are you arguing that they should now be punished for focusing on equipping our armed forces with the specific carbines called for by those military customers? Yes how dare they act as part of the arsenal of democracy putting the troops first and giving their civilian customers a bit less to be excited about while we sit on our fat asses complaining.

I built the same thing but using a BCM with Centurion rail. I love it and its my favorite gun. Its a great configuration; mid-length, LW barrel, Centurion rail with a SSA-E trigger makes for a great carbine! I'll probably still by a Colt however :P

No, that didn't cost them their company. Greedy hedge fund companies taking more profits from the company than were available did it. If Colt made this gun in 2007, it would have have saved them in any way.

Colt's new management is fully into Civy sales (to include NFA).
