Where did you find it Modelbuilder56? Might need to add one to the pile.

And you are more than welcome.

Yeah, I will be picking one of these up. I wonder if they will basically be 6920s or will they raid the expanse parts bin?
If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.

Strangely another company has been making almost the identical carbine for several months now with upgrades. In fact, Tuscon PD ordered a dozen or so as part of an initial procurement to replace their worn out stuff.

I'd love to buy the complete upper of the 6960 if Colt offers it. We in Commiefornia are now screwed and we can no longer buy complete rifles. But I have plenty of legal lowers just waiting for uppers!

I'm assuming you are referring to the Scionics line, or the PAT3 to be exact. I know you are connected heavily with Scionics, but:

They do not have the weight behind their name that Colt does. My agency, and MANY like it, allow firearms by brand. Scionics is not, and most likely will not ever be, a listed MFG on the allowable patrol rifle list for many agencies. Colt is. While the PAT3 looks like a fine rifle, it's also a nice chunk more expensive than the CCU. Between the two, I'd buy the CCU all day long.

Just sayin'. We are in use by at least 40 law enforcement agencies in the U.S. to include the Atlanta PD, Atlanta Airport Police, Glendale, AZ PD ASU, et al.. That said, if you add sights to the Colt, add an NP3 BCG and the enhanced trigger you will be very close in price to the Patrol III.

Can you look at your carbine and see if it uses a 4 position receiver extension or a 6 position receiver extension?

I'm about to buy a Daniel Defense V7, but...

This Colt has a lot to offer for the price. I like the barrel that is between a Lw and Gov profile. But I would have preferred if they would have used the 15" rail instead of the 13". And if they are using a 4 position receiver extension instead of a 6 position, my only question to Colt would be, "Why"?

With many agencies, it's easier to get a personally owned rifle, departmentally approved if it's factory built by a known company. That doesn't mean that the companies unknown to the range staff aren't putting out a good product. That doesn't mean that it even makes sense. Sometimes it is what it is.

What's the barrel details? I just went through a number of pages searching but not the entire thread.

    CHF? Same as the 6920?

Crib what I've read, not CHF. The barrel profile is between a pencil barrel and a government profile.

R.E. is four position and I'll get some better pictures of the barrel under the rail.
