There’s a good series of articles on vision issues for hand gunners at the Bullseye websight. Look here: http://www.bullseyepistol.com/wong.htm

Wow! Gunsite is hosting a number of courses for Seasoned Citizens. I hope they're successful and establish a market niche that others will follow here on the East Coast.

I suffered a mild brain injury as a teenager. It resulted in some loss of some sensation and sense of position of the fingers of my left hand (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proprioception). As a result shooting with my support hand is a challenge as it is difficult to sense the position of my trigger finger and the amount of pressure I am applying to the trigger. I really have to look at the position of my finger to be sure it is where I want it to be. I told this to my trainers during classes and most replied do what you need to do to be safe, do not rush. I shoot just as accurately or better with my support hand as with my strong hand but it takes longer and more concentration.. I think part of it is not being able to judge the point in the trigger pull when the shot breaks and that reduces the flinch reflex.
If things get spicey during a breakdown of civility you may need the older and brokedown citizens in your groups, many with combat experience under their belts from old wars, to man fixed posts/positions to free up the more physically capable to do more demanding tasks. Training like this will improve their effectiveness and make their contributions to the group much more valuable. If you aren't training them yourself, get outside training while you can.

I'm 69 with some problems getting back up when I go prone. I talked to a woman shooter at the range recently and she had just come back from a course in AZ that was for seasoned citizens. She said the course made provisions and alternatives for issues like mine.
