75gr Gold Dot .223 (data-dump, more to come)

At the risk of veering far off track, how would this compare to the 90gr 6.8 Gold dots (XM68GD)? Obviously a touch bigger in weight and caliber, but is it enough to 'make the jump' to the 6.8 band wagon?

Makes you really wonder, doesn't it? I mean, with all the improvements every year on the 5.56, it seems 6.8 is being relegated to hogs and dear and not so much HD.

I am sending some Gold Dot to be evaluated at low impact velocities in gel, chronographed (The data I now have, shows, 2199fps from a 10.5" barrel, and 2419fps from a 24.5" barrel, and gel/animal data is forthcoming.) and shot into hogs and deer.

No bullet recovery. His commentary was that damage was nice, but browntip tears up internals a bit more. He likes it better than 70gr gmx though.

This was fired from a 7.5" pistol into gel. I do not know how "calibrated" or what exact type of gel it was. The impact velocity was roughly 1850fps. I will post video as soon as it's edited and up.
