I wish there was a low weight option LPV.

I like my MTAC but the weight adds up and seems out of place on a rifle where the build is very weight conscious.

    Aero mounts are around 3oz.
    Leupold VX6 Multigun/Threegun is around 14oz.
    17oz total...not really THAT bad...no?

Thanks, I'll have to check out the Aero. I almost cried paying for the LaRue to save a few ounces over the PEPR.

What caliber weapon is this going on? If 5.56, whatever. If .30 cal, I'd hardmount it and skip the QD stuff. It just doesn't seem to hold up from what I've read about high round count classes in their AAR's.

LT is the lightest of the QD mounts. Aero is the lightest mount currently available. I have a Nightforce scope, so I just bought the Nightforce Unimount, as it is only about 2oz heavier than the Aero, and I feel it is a more stable link between upper and scope.

    ^Total weight is around 23oz.

The only reason I got an Eotech over an Aimpoint is because the reticle looked a lot more crisp with my astigmatism. Now I'm looking to get an ACOG since my Eotech is sent back for a refund...

    Thanks for the information WS6.

I need to replace an Eotech and buy something for a new rifle. The Eotech will be replaced with a RDS but the new rifle needs to be a lightweight all purpose rig so the LPV or similar will probably be the way to go. I'll definitely consider the mounts you mentioned.
