What barrel would you suggest in a 16 inch setup? Looking for something as accurate as possible. Also, I love the feel and weight of the DD Slim line rail with keymod... But is there anything comparable that's cheaper out there?

I would say this one is best best combo of bargain + similar to the v11.

You have to order the upper/lower separately to avoid the tax.

BCM all the way. You can order a BCM KMR upper and a BCM lower directly from BCM for about $1,100. Or you can order from Grant. Add an ALG ACT trigger and an optic. Mix with healthy dose of ammo and you will have quite a nice setup.

If you are already content with your Daniel Defense rifle, then I would pick-up another. The BHF barrel should provide many years of service. The BCM option is good too.

If a future possibility of more restrictions concerns you, then pick up 2-3 quality lower receivers, LPKs, BCGs, and maybe a barrel or two.

Western Sport is selling DD barrels very cheap right now. Building or having someone like Grant or ADCO put an upper together for you would be easy and the less expensive route.

Picked one of these up last week based on all the recommendations here and it is definitely the way to go. I have two BCM rifles with different upper configurations and they are the way to go. BCM is a great company with outstanding ownership.

Great info from everyone. Thank you. BCM is new to me, but seems like a great rifle (and company), especially for the price. Thanks again.

I'd go with a 16" BCM SS410 upper and save a few bucks building a lower ( like the Mega forged Gator) and put the savings toward a Geissele trigger. You can always get a matching BCM lower later when money is not so tight.

Another vote for BCM here. However, like someone mentioned before if you like your DD, their 5.56 rifles are among some of the best as well and a solid option.
