I think the 16" SS410s are likely more accurate. It's ikely that the 16" is stiffer, though the 18" is heavier for longer between the bbl extension and gas block.

Mine is melointed. If I get it pretty hot the groups open up but come right back as its cool again. No shift in any particular direction. Heat always damages the chamber & bore. I do use the VLTOR A5 buffer and a BCM A2 buffer spring in mine with a cut down spacer in the MAGPUL PRS stock.

I don't have a specific answer, but this may be relevant:

I'm currently running a H2 with SpringCo Blue in a carbine tube. I don't see any advantage to an A3.

I recently did a side by side with two identical builds (both mine), one using the A5 with A5H3 and SpringCo Green and one with a LMT carbine and H2 with SpringCo blue. I cannot tell the difference between the A5 system and the Carbine system. Both rifles have 16" Noveske Mid-Length N4 steel barrels, Vltor MUR 1A uppers and BCM BCGs.

I think the A5 system might be more helpful with carbine gas systems with shorter barrels because the one I tested with a 16" mid-length didn't really provide more smoothness. In fact, I liked the Carbine system better because the LMT tube was quieter. I cannot explain why except that LMT seems to put a coating on the tube.

So I'm leaving the rest of my rifles with carbine buffer tubes.

Mine runs nice 'n smooth with an LMT carbine spring and H2 buffer.

LMT tubes have a dry-lube on 'em.

I have 2 14.5" BCM BFH uppers and 1 ss410 16". They all are very accurate. I believe the 410 barrel is more accurate as it should be.

That's really impressive! I didn't think results like that where possible without hand loads.

Agreed. I didn't think results like that were possible but then I'm a mediocre shot Knowing it is tho gives me plenty of motivation. My goal is to get sub .5 moa. I have some Hornady 75gr next to try.

They are phenomenal barrels. Very much true Sub-MOA.

Was windier than crap today so no chance to improve. Best I managed was .91 MOA. On the flipside, I actually got the wife out shooting with me and she had a blast shooting an AR for the first time. I see another AR being added to the inventory!
