CMMG Announces New 308 AR Lowers using G3 mags

    http://cmmginc.secure-mall.com/shop/...207257&cat=38&

"CMMG is proud to offer our new .308 G3 mag compatible semi-auto lower. Upper is compatible with DPMS .308 upper receivers with minor modification to upper receiver to allow for clearance of wider G3 magazine. With new mags available $3-5, this is a combo that cannot be beat. Lower is compatible with most popular aftermarket triggers currently on the market. We are accepting pre-orders. We are looking to begin shipping the month of Sept."

    Hmm....This looks pretty interesting....

I'm guessing the main benefit is the cheap magazines?

Hmmm, verrrrrrrrrrry interesting. The only concern I have is the type of modification that needs to be done to the upper and if it something the end-user ca easily do.

    Wow, this is interesting.

Using cheap and extremely reliable H&K G3 magazines is a damn smart idea.

I don't know much about the G3 mags. How is the reliability and why are they so cheap compared to other mags?

This, and the reliability of the magazine combo...

Availability. At the last "Nation's Gun Show" in Chantilly, VA a dealer had a crate full that he was selling for $5 each.
