no adjustment of the clamp mechanism is needed. It auto adjusts to any rail width(every rail is slightly different). It also doesnt mar the under side of the rail because its a clamp type vs. throw levers. RTZ so far, for me, has been perfect and I have a mount on a 6.5 creedmoor that goes to 1200 yards and ive never had to re-zero after removing the optic.
My larue requires clamp adjustment on every gun it also mars the rails because of said adjustment and the way it installs(throw levers). I havent had any RTZ issues with the larue though.
The finish on the Bobro is a bit nicer than the Larue, but I think the machining between the two is pretty close. Larue has always had nice machining.
Rjacobs beat me to it, but basically everything he said.
When I used a LaRue mount on a DD upper, I had to tighten the clamp so much to eliminate any play that I practically lost the QD feature because the throw lever then had to be pried open with some sort of tool as I could no longer do it by hand (Eurodriver also mentioned this earlier). This was a mount for an Aimpoint M4S. I also had a difficult time opening the levers on an ADM mount on a BCM upper for the same reason, but not quite as bad. This was a dual lever, 30 mm scope mount with extended eye relief.
With a Bobro you just put it on your rail and clamp it and go. It does the rest. IMO it also has nicer machining/fit & finish than the others. I know that's not especially important here and people often get criticized for mentioning it, but I'm of the opinion that if I'm paying good money for something there's no reason it can't look good too.
There's also this quote from 2009 by one of the forum staff members who knows what he's talking about. I don't know if his opinion has changed since then, but this pretty well sums it up for me:
Steve
Have Bobro's in QD for T-2's, 30mm optics, and 34mm optics, and 34mm w/20 MOA.
LaRue good, Bobro better.
I've always used Larue because they worked and I thought they were top tier. I'm going to have to buy a bobro so thanks guys. Anyone have a link where to get for the best price. I prefer 1/3 cowitness.
It's going on a MPX (mp5 wanna be). I've sent for my SBR stamp and I am going to run my AAC TI RANT 45 can. It will be a sweet set up when I'm done. I got notification my stock has shipped.
Best place to buy bobro?
Thanks fellas.

Glad we could help. This was a great thread. Nice and clean without getting off topic.
