They're still here. 1.48" OD cannot be beat. Crazy solid mount. With the Vertex Ops aluminum 1.3oz barrel nuts, they're also still lighter than most of these newer rails...
I have 3 NSRs on my ARs. They are great rails. I don't feel an urge to switch them out for anything I've seen. There are some nice rails out there, though. I am going to try a BCM KMR-A for my next build, just to switch it up, plus it's an incredible rail for a very reasonable price.

I've had NSRs for years and they utilize an anti-rotation pin that mates between the upper receiver and rail. (Note: not all uppers are predrilled for this pin but many are.) A lot of people don't use or feel they need it though as the NSR mounting system is pretty solid. Both mine have pins installed and with locktite, on the mounting screws, they aren't going anywhere.

My NSR is a love/hate relationship. I love the profile, I hate the timing requirements and the shitty button head hardware.

yeah, I hear you on the hardware. I've had trouble with timing on one rifle. Ended up going slightly over spec to get it lined up right. Other than that one, all of the other uppers have been a piece of cake.

I recently bought an NSR rail and I prefer it to my original KMR. Only downside to it is having to time the barrel nut more precisely, but that's not a big deal. Looking forward to the mlok noveske rail as well as their hybrid. If they'll be much longer I'll grab the skd rail. I have nothing negative to say about the KMR.
