Yet another vote for the Colt. The 6920 is a stellar performer. They're incredibly hard to find right now. Stay away from the Bushmaster.

After being forced to take a brief, 2-year hiatus from shooting/training, I am finally getting back into the swing of things. Having owned several Colt and Daniel Defense carbines in the past, I had my choices narrowed down to the DD M4 V11 (LW) and the Colt LE6920 w/ Magpul furniture.

I ultimately chose to go with the Colt (equipped with Magpul's SL furniture). It has everything I need for the moment. Just need to add a sling, a light, and an Aimpoint (at some point).

    Good luck with your decision/purchase.

While I admit that I didn't read the whole thread, there is bases for some input, that may have been added earlier.
Colt can sell TDP components commercially. FN has the capability to make quality stuff, but may not sell them commercially in legal terms. Bushmaster is an unknown, look up their history, from what they were to what is now.
How do you know what you are getting for your hard earned dollar?
For the cost, it is very difficult to beat Colt. Not saying there is not better out there for some.

Well I'm late to this party but I guess I'll add my two cents worth anyway…. Colt is by far a choice you'll never regret.
If you encounter any problems finding one just let us know and we'll find you one, I've noticed that the market is currently drying up for some reason so act quickly but don't overpay.

Several posts back, the OP already stated that he was going to get the Colt.

The response has been excellent and appreciated. So now which Colt is recommended?

Colt LE6920 basic package with collapsible stock, standard handguards, FSB and "carrying handle" - $920.00

    colt69201.jpg

    <OR>

Colt LE6920MPS-B that incl. the following - $980.00
    Magpul MOE-SL Handguards
    Magpul MOE-SL Carbine Stock
    Magpul MOE-SL Pistol Grip
    Magpul MOE M-LOK Vertical Grip
Magpul MBUS Gen 2 back-up sight
    Magpul MOE Trigger Guard

It appears everyone likes to dress their ARs out individually, but that is about $150 worth of accessories for and additional $50. If the Magpul stuff is junk, then it doesn't matter, I'll go with the base package.

    Thanks.

That's a tough choice, I guess it all depends on whether you want a carry handle or not.
The top one appears to have a Rogers Super-Stoc which is much better than the Magpul stock but Magpul furniture is not junk either.
Either way you can't go wrong.

New Colts do not come with Roger's Super-Stoc or carry handles, unless your dealer has old stock.

The Magpul gear is nice, affordable, but there are many better options out there.

For starters, replace the stock grip with a BCM grip. Purchase a 2 point sling and a Surefire white light.

I would get the gun, shoot it for awhile and assess how the standard equipment works for you. Then you can replace the components that aren't working to your satisfaction. All you're going to get here is opinions from several posters about their favorite components. Those choices may not be entirely suitable for you.

I bought a Colt M4/LE6920 a few years ago, Magpul FDE edition, and couldn't be happier. Very accurate, and extremely reliable.

Magpul is far from junk. It may not be super delta sEaL coast guard ranger paratroop black ops level, but junk it is not.
