Colt LE6920MPS-B (Magpul furniture) - $980
So.....
Is FN $200 better than a Bushmaster?
Is Colt $300 better than an XM15?
Is Colt $100 better than FN?
If so/not, why?
This will be the one and only AR I'll ever own and don't plan on ever purchasing another one. This weapon will be purely a SHTF go-to. I have experience with Colt M4s, nothing else by way of carbines. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,

Brian,
I read through the first few posts and did not need to read much further. You have to realize that M4Carbine is loaded with Colt fanboys. You will get a majority of responses for the Colt. That said, I would be very apprehensive about buying Bushmaster these days. They are not the Bushmasters of old. I would also not hesitate to buy the FN before I would buy the Colt. I like my Colt ARs and I have a few of them, but I am not so stuck up on the Colts that I cannot appreciate other good quality ARs. You hear Colt is mil-spec and FN is not because Colt owns the TDP and FN cannot make commercial AR per the TDP. Well, Colt does not make commercial ARs per the TDP either. Only military grade ARs (M16s, M4s, and M4A1s) are made per the TDP. Both Colt and FN use some mil-spec parts in their ARs, but they cannot be 100% mil-spec because they are only semi-auto commercial version of their military counterparts. They can both have some parts that are made of the materials, machined/forged, and finished to those specs, but that does not make the entire AR mil-spec. When it comes to commercial ARs, as I said, the TDP does not apply. Now, go and make your own decision as to what YOU want to buy. If you want the Bushy, by all means get it. Same goes for the FN or Colt, but do not let anyone tell you what you should buy just because of the name attached to it. Heck, there are other ARs out there for around the same money as the Bushy, and better quality. There are others out there for around the same price or less than the FN and Colt that are every bit as good.
