It's rock solid and the rails are absolutely spec. On the Surefire, some say that the rails are a bit smaller (might be larger, someone correct me if im wrong) than spec and any possibility of mounting some optical device solidly was therefore botched.

However the MI HG's have no such problem. The reason they are cheaper than something like Daniel Defense is because they weigh more. Noticably more. However unless you plan to do a lot of carrying (see certain styles of varmint hunting) there is no need to worry.

Whatever you do, don't get the 20-X, it gets REALLY ugly after a while.

    Talking

All the Handguards made after 9/15 are 20% lighter, I was told by the owner the last time I was there picking up a New Handguard. Good, down to earth people that work there...

DAMN! that does look nice on there. one question though for everyone. what determines how solid this or any other rail you don't remove the barrel cap and whatever else you remove for a dd or larue is? my plasic moves back and forth along the barrel line slightly. will this matter for the M.I.?

You have to remove the delta ring (I cut mine off with a dremel) and then clamp the rail to the barrel nut.

If you look at the rear of the rail you will see the screws which clamp the rail to the barrel nut.

thanks for the pics. the reason i like the MI offering besides price is the fact i do not have to mess with the FSB, and i want to go 14.5" with a permed FH.
