“I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
Thomas Jefferson
So does it dethrone the raptor?
Also received both a Raptor and a Geissele for my rifles. Both are nice and high quality, but the Geissele is a 11 where the Raptor is a 10.
That looks like a solid piece of equipment. I'm in no hurry though so will wait for black friday sales. I love good gear, just not at full prices.
I got my noveske branded one back home, waiting until Christmas leave to finish that rifle off. Still waiting on the surefire warcomp that's been on order since April, waiting on some Black Friday noveske sale for the chf 16 barrel.
Finally able to find one in stock and grabbed a black charging handle from Primary Arms. I've been running the same Raptor on 3 different duty guns for probably 10K rounds and love it. Before using a larger/ambi charging handle I thought they were gimmicky and just a waste of money. Main reason I was interested in the Geissele was hopefully to help with gas to the face. On my BCM 11.5 with a Saker 556K it's pretty terrible.
Just got it today and out of the bag impressions are positive, as with all G products I've had experience with. I believe they're already pre-oiled with G Juice, as it smells like it. Weight is similar as are the overall dimensions, the G's latches are just a hair wider. I wasn't sure I'd prefer the G's curved latches over the Raptor's straighter latch, but I found just working the handle I like the G more in feel; this could be subjective much like straight vs curved triggers.
The G has 3 roll pins vs the Raptor's 2. Finally the G has that raised lip which I'm hoping will help with the gas to the face. I plan on doing the RTV trick to the Raptor and compare the two for kicks.
