I used a handful of these for some past builds. The worst blem out of all of them was a bad dry-tef spray job. All were functional though.

So the general consensus I am getting is that I should expect MINOR cosmetic issues and 99.5% chance of not having any functionality issues. Does that sound right to you guys?

Yep. The one I got has 3 tiny little pin point sized dots that look like dust specs. I also have a new AERO. They both the AERO lower exactly the same. If I touched the BCM with a sharpie you would not be able to tell them apart.

I'm pretty sure the BCM site tells you they are functionally proper. They are not going to sell you something that doesn't work. It just has a couple tiny blemishes... it's not broken.

Ooops... sorry... I thought the OP meant receivers... I think he may mean complete uppers. Don't know anything about that.

I've used over 15 of these to assemble uppers. Most have very minor blems. A couple had more pronounced blems and a couple were perfect. I had trouble getting one of the forward assists installed, but it was quickly fixed by BCM. If you don't need guaranteed pretty, these are great.

I bought one a few months ago. I couldn't find the blemish. It was super clean and once I completed the upper with a BCM 14.5" barrel, it functioned flawless. You can't go wrong with BCM. Great products and great service.

Thanks guys. I will be placing my order today. I would do it right now but I just can't order just an upper. I need to buy something else, as I need to justify the shipping charge. Yeah that's the excuse to buy more stuff, because I need to justify shipping cost.

I bought three on Black Friday. One had a tiny scratch; the other two looked perfect. The two I assembled are working perfectly.
