When are the 9mm lightweight commanders shipping? I am really liking these new colts and think this would be a blast to shoot.

I could go for a lightweight commander w/rail in 9mm. I won't be ready until the fall so maybe? The ramped vs. no ramp question is interesting. I would like to know more.

That's the question nobody seems able to answer. If they run, which I bet they will, it doesn't really matter but it would be interesting to know.

What I have learned is that steel followers can damage the aluminum feed ramp, should it come in contact. Some followers do move forward upon feeding the last round, is that the cause?

That would be a slick little gun. A non-rail lightweight commander would cool too.

These do not have a ramp.

Interestingly enough, they also have blue fiber optic sights.

I have absolutely no need for one of these, but I want one.

I picked up the .45 model recently. Ran 150 rounds of S&B right out of the box (factory lube job) without an issue. Obviously not much, but my n=1 didn't have issues with hard SB primers.

The blue fiber optic needs to go ASAP IMO. Your pistol should come with red, green and blue. The blue picks up so little light, it might as well not be there.

Edit to add: another 150, no issues.

I picked up the 9mm Competition model from Grant when he first got them, and other than the blue FO front sight (swapped for a Dawson), the pistol has been better than I had expected for the price.

Dawson FO front sight still rules the roost as far as fiber optic front sights are concerned (for me anyways).
