Thank you for he info. This forum has a lot of knowledgeable people. I am not sure the A2 flashhider on the sport is so loud. The PSA has the A2 also. The DD has their own which is about the same as the PSA, but reduces or redirects the little recoil it has more straight back. Maybe I did something after putting the flashhider back on the sport. I had it so hot after running about 9 30 round mags through it that I shot it off the gun. I used another crush washer, but just wrench tightened it with channel locks. I probably should get a torque wrench set. I have put a couple hundred rounds through it since and no problems, just louder. This was soon after I bought it and before getting the other rifles.

    S&W with Eotech
    DD with an Aimpoint
PSA could be upgraded to Vortex 1x4 or 1x6

That's strange. I've never heard of anyone shooting an A2 off a rifle before. I have no idea why it would be louder after you reinstalled it. Are you certain it wasn't damaged, and did it thread back on easily? As far as torque, IIRC there is no torque spec for a crush washer. You just thread the muzzle device on and tighten it with a wrench until it's timed properly (if applicable). I suggest threading it on about 1/4 turn at a time and then backing off and then another 1/4 turn until it's timed.

If you're going to be wrenching on your guns then picking up a couple of decent tools would be a good idea as well. A Magpul armorer's wrench or Hammerhead wrench might be a good place to start.

I will try removing it and reinstalling. It is aligned correctly so I am not sure either why its so loud. That sport is my beat on rifle. For $530 I couldn't expect more. Besides the Eotech and mpul moe stock, I don't have much into it and the optic doesn't really count because that could end up on a different rifle at some point.

That's the plan right there! Two red dot/holographic non magnified and a scope for the SS barrel AR

As far as BCG's go, I've had great luck with DD, LMT, Noveske, Colt, Rainier, and BCM. I'd recommend any of those based on my personal experience. Rainier has some great deals, and I truly believe they're an underrated product with top tier customer service. My smoothest shooting rifle is a BCM 14.5 mid length upper with a Rainier BCG, Surefire brake, running a standard buffer tube and spring with an H buffer. Seems to eat everything and runs very smooth. If you're looking at muzzle devices, I am honestly a pretty big fan of the A2. Cheap and does a decent job at what it's meant to. Moving up a little, I am a big fan of the Surefire 3 prong flash hider, I have one of those and it's probably my favorite. AAC is solid too but it's like a tuning fork... I've heard great things about BE Meyers, but don't have personal experience with them (I do with the other things I've touched on).

Getting back to triggers - if you're just getting into them, I'd get a G2S. I think that if you're unfamiliar with other triggers, you'll be very impressed - hell, even if you have shot every trigger on the market I'll bet you like it. After that, if you decide you like having an aftermarket trigger more, you can always decide to spend more and move up to an SDE or SSAE.

Trigger upgrades are nice and there are several good options out there in various price ranges. In the sub $100 realm there is ALG, BCM's new trigger, and the NP3 coated Sionics trigger. I have one of the Sionics triggers and it's quite nice. Make no mistake, it's not a Geissele, but it was a significant upgrade over the stock BCM trigger it replaced. Note that my BCM lower was bought before they started offering their own enhanced trigger. I have no experience with their new trigger, but based on their reputation alone I would be surprised if it wasn't neck and neck with the Sionics. Of course if you want to go all out on a trigger and price is no object then look at Geissele. I only have experience with the SSA and SD-C. I have a lower with an SD-E but haven't been able to use it yet. They have several other options as well and their quality is second to none.

The A2 birdcage on your Sport shouldn't be any louder than any other muzzle device. In fact, the A2 is generally considered to be among the tamest muzzle devices in terms of concussion and how loud it is to those around you. Brakes are what will rattle their teeth out.

And to address your original question, I agree with silviacrazed and TNW to look at Vortex and Trijicon, as well as Nightforce, Steiner, Leupold, etc. You never mentioned what you were looking to spend on an optic, but there a multitude of threads regarding low power variable optics in the optics forum and you'll find all the information you need there.
I would like to keep the scope on the $600-700 max range. I can see spending more on a precision 308, but not sure that I will benefit much by spending more than that. I appreciate any advice. My thinking is that for a low power variable, I should be able to get something for the $600-700 or less. Most of my rifle experience is 100 yards or less. I have done some 300 yards shooting, but not as much. I would like to see what this rifle is capable of or should say my capability with the rifle. My next purchase will probably be a 308 and will look at better glass options then.

I ordered the geisselle super dynamic combat trigger SD-C for the PSA 223 wylde SS AR. Still haven't decided what I will do with the Daniel Defense. After I try the SDC trigger, I will decie if I want a 2 stage or single stage trigger for the DD. I was planning on a single stage for the DD just because I am used to the stock milspec AR. Any opinions on single vs 2 stage for my go to rifle for HD or some shtf scenario? Also I ended up picking up a used vortex viper for $300. The guy I bought it from preferred a sightmark eotech copy for whatever reason. I haven't had the chance to mount it yet and only have access to a 50 yard indoor range until spring. I really appreciate the advice received on this forum.

Triggers are personal preference. I personally love the Wilson Combat TTU single stage. They make a MIL/LE version that breaks just over 5lbs (my Dept requires a 5lb min for duty guns) that I love. Just picked up the normal single stage model and it is breaking at 3.5 lbs. Most would recommend a 4-5.5lb trigger for a self defense gun. You really can't go wrong with a quality single stage or two stage for SD/HD type work.

Thank you. I never thought I needed better than the milspec triggers until I tried something different and started reading. I was issued the colt m4A1 in the Border Patrol years ago and always thought the riggers were fine. Our current colts are 3 round burst/10.5" barrels and have noticed differences since I started trying better triggers, but still could get by with the stock trigger. I wish we could use our own rifles on duty. I would take my DDM4V11 in semi only vs the short barreled colt set up we are using 90% of the time. BTW how can I get access to the LEO forum?
