Question about zeroing a Trijicon Accupower 1-4

My understanding is that you have to zero it at 200 yards? I'm a little worried about this since I usually zero my optics at 50 yd and I'm familiar with the bullet trajectory. Has anyone zeroed at 50?
I don't even have anything close by that has 200 yards :-(
Do you have problems shooting CQB distance?
    Thanks!

I would have thought it best to zero an Accupower at 100 yards. But I don't have one so take that for what it's worth.

It won't be perfect but if you zero at 200 yards you will be very close at 50. People sometimes refer to a 50 yard zero as a 50/200 yard zero because they're so close. If you decide to zero at 200, start at 50 and then move back. Once dialed in at 200 move back to 50 and see how close you are.

I see now! Its pretty flat within around 2 inches +- so it wont be a big issue for CQB distance (not different than accounting for the 2 inches or so that you have to aim higher when zeroed at 50)
    thanks!

Yes. You will be less than +/- 2.5" out to around 220.

This is helpful if you don't shoot much beyond 300 where your drop is around 10ish inches. The problem with that scope is the giant post which makes holding to compensate for elevation less than ideal. If you're shooting mostly under 250 the scope should be ideal and depending on target size you'll be POA/POI...+/- 2.5" for most everything.

Zero schemes that have the rising and falling ranch numbers listed should always be confirmed at the longer distance for best results. Windage error won't show up as much at the shorter range.

I believe he is referring to the newest line of Trijicon optics, the Accupower, which is battery powered. I have the 1-4 with the reticle that reminds of an EOTech reticle which then has hold overs marked starting at 400 out to 800. I zero at 50, then move back to 200 and confirm there. Out to 400 it lines up perfect with XM193 and even better with Mk262 style load(Fed Gold Metal Match 77's).

Reading is fundamental. Thanks for the correction. I was totally not thinking of the correct scope.

I asked Trijicon when I got mine. The scope is meant to be zeroed at 100yds. The BDC is calibrated for M193 from a 16" barrel. With the 100yd zero I've been able to use the BDC to 600yds.

Not sure that is correct. From logic, each mark is separated by 100 yards. That means the zero would be 50-200 with the next mark being 300, then the next one has a 4 so it's 400 yards and so forth up to 800.

Trijicon stated that the scope is intended to be zeroed at 100yds. With a 100yd zero, you're looking at less than a 2.5" drop at 200yds with M193 from a 16" barrel, which is what the BDC is calibrated for. The center dot of the crosshair covers that amount of target at 200yds. Adding a 200yd mark on the BDC would've just cluttered the center of the reticle. After that, yes, the BDC is marked for every hundred yards.
