    Recce Rifle

I am wanting to do a top quality RECCE build. Requirements are: No select fire lowers, 5.56x45, 16" 1:7 twist stainless steel match grade barrel, Ability to fire with or without suppressor, Mid length gas system, 14.5" free float handguard, will be fired from a rail mounted bipod, Low variable power optic. What do you guys suggest?

For 15k I would probably invest 12k of that money in mutual funds or something...

Yeah I imagine you could build a awesome rifle with acc. and a great optic and mount for around 5-6k. Using BCM upper and blem lower. Actually a lot less after looking at BCMs website for 16" recce uppers, glass will be the most expensive part of the equation.

$15K? Sure lets play this game...

    KAC ACC SR-25 $4100
    Vortex 1-6 Razor HD $1400
    KAC QDC $1300 + $200 tax stamp
DBAL or the likes $1000 or under depending on what you go with
Dual PVS-14's or a single depending on how much is left (You have $7,000 left....)

ETA: Yes I realize you spec'd you wanted a 5.56 rifle, but with that kind of coin, why not 308 in a semi light package...

    I'd buy a Bushmaster and 40, 000 rounds of .223.

That, or start off finding a good registered FA lower and building it up from there with an FA SSA, and then going from there.

    Recce Rifle

You would really have to try to spend that much.

I would get Noveske gen 2 lower with geissele SDE, UBR 2 w/ a5 buffer, MSTN 16" upper with Geissele rail, Vortex/Kahles 1-6, Surefire or KAC mini can.

You could still buy an SR25 plus a crate of ammo with the left over.

    Poor attempt at humor.

Truthfully I'd build around a 16" stainless match barrel of some variety with a nice Geissele trigger and add a really nice expensive optic. If I was playing with $15,000 and not $1,500.

Eta: And then I'd still buy a mutual fund.
