Once I spent 5k on a hooker when I lived in Holland. Didn't feel at all silly even though 100 Euros could have got me the same thing.
Don't believe a word I say; I took a solid hit to the head and I'm a murse.

I hope she came with at least an ounce of cocaine.

Yeah that's a lot. Hopefully you have a lifelong mental image to refer back to when needed.

I know right?!?! That's like someone saying that it's more practical to buy a $80,000 BMW when they could just buy a Ford Focus for $15,000

This thread is turning into Komedy Central. Determine your needs (accuracy, etc..) and which optics, lights, kitchen sinks or whatever you want and then lay it out. This hypothetical 10K thing is a waste of time.

I edited the original post. Hopefully I can get a few more serious responses.

Unless I missed it, you still haven't mentioned your accuracy requirements.

It matters. Are you hand loading, or shooting match grade factory ammo? Are you shooting small practical targets, or doing groups? Are they 3 shot, 5 shot, 10 shot groups? 30 shot? All this makes a difference in what you go with.

The most expensive barrel in the world will only do so much for you when you're shooting match ammo. Conversely, a cheap barrel with handloads can do great things. So picking a barrel, which is arguably the priciest part of a RECCE behind the optic, is going to come down to your realistic requirements of it, and how you'll achieve those requirements.

I want it to be as accurate as possible using MK262 ammo. Shooting 10 shot groups from a rail mounted bipod at silhouette targets out to a maximum range of about 700 meters.
