What do you guys suggest?
    I suggest going here:

And telling them exactly what you said above.

You will end up with something top of the line that is not "off the shelf"

I built my RECCE with a blem BCM lower & a ready made BCM RECCE precision upper. After getting the stock I wanted, top quality parts, Geissele trigger, etc., it probably came in at around $1200. It's my most accurate AR & has been plugging away reliably for about five or six years.

    Or:

Then buy mags, ammo, optic of your choice.......done! It doesn't have to cost $10k or even $5k, but maybe your standards are different than mine.

Here are the 2 I built for my kids, and at 5 and 7 they love them. The top is my son's and bottom is daughter's. Both of my kids had some input into their guns, when they get older i'll pull their mom's plain jane rifle out and have them shoot side by side to get an appreciation for the components in their guns. Both guns are in the $2500 to $2700 range.
    Specs-top
BCM 16" middy SS with 12" PRI and AFG2
CMMG Lower-SD3G, BADASS, Troy Ambi Mag release, Bad Lever, UBR, and K2
Leupy VX-R Patrol 3-9 TMR in an ADM Recon mount
    Bottom
KAC SR15 E3 Mod1 upper with SF brake
Spikes Calico Jack lower, CMMG LPK, SDC, BADASS, Bad Lever, K2, and B5 SOPMOD
SS HD 1-6 in ADM Recon X

Just over $5k into both of these guns and more than enough gun

Name a group size. A standard chromed barrel will ring a silhouette all day at 700 if you do your part with that ammo.

If you want to make heads hots every time, you better be really good and may want to start hand loading. I don't know if moving up from a bcm stainless will produce noticably better results with factory match ammo.

Guy wants to spend $10k and people are still on here recommending Blem uppers and lowers. I know the BCM blems are tough to spot, but really?
If you're going to spend $10k why not pay the extra $25 and buy the non-blem version?
