    14.5 Pinned muzzle device FH/MB

This is not a discussion of going with a 16'' barrel over the pinned 14.5" or getting a sbr stamp. I just want to know what others are using on their 14.5" pinned barrel setups. I would like to keep it short as possible but legal. So I have found a few in my travels across the web. Of course I would like it to be a .750 diameter so the gas block and barrel nut can come off if needed.

My other question is has anybody purchased a muzzle device and turned it down to .750 or smaller in a lathe? Thanks in advance for any help and direction.

It would be nice to keep this as informative as possible for guys going the pinned direction, Thank you

VooDoo Manimal A2 Extended Flash Hider

The Voodoo Innovations Manimal extended low-profile Flash Hider is designed and built specifically for use with 14.5 inch barrels (or other barrels) that require a pinned and welded muzzle device. The Manimals design allows it to be pinned and welded to a 14.5 inch barrel with a .750 gas block profile, without restricting the ability to take you gas block on and off. Any .750 gas block will slide right over the Manimal, allowing for easy maintenance and part swapping, without breaking your welded flash hider loose, or causing other damage.

This Manimal is treated with a proprietary LifeCoat process for durability and corrosive resistance. Included is a Manimal Crush Washer. Lifetime Warranty.

1.985" total length of flash hider.

    *Weight: 1.472 oz.

An A2 on a 14.5 inch Colt barrel comes out at 15.825 inches. What about using that with a 0.2-inch spacer? You wouldn't be able to remove the gas block without unpinning, but for the money you'd save, you could afford to repin it a couple of times.

I'd do what you for whatever reason don't want to do... Use a 16" barrel. Only you can put a value on the inch and a half. If you are dead set on 16' OAL use what you want to use and cut/thread a barrel to what it takes. If you take that road use a top shelf barrel and pinned GB. If I ever talk myself into a pinned MD I would do a Noveski 13.7 and pinned a 249F.

The Noveske Infidel and M249F look great, and it shoots even better.

If you want as short as possible without NFA get your barrel first. Apparently some of these companies can't measure. My 14.5" measures 15" to the bolt, other users have measured 14.7ish on barrels advertised at 14.5.

I have a BCM 14.5" BFH barrel that I drilled & pinned a standard A2 to. It comes out to 16.1".

Considering my BCM '14.5"' LW measured 15" crown to bolt face I have no trouble believing it.
