This is where I am working on the mag holder myself. Ideally I will have the magazine canted so that when my hand would rest on top of it, my wrist would still be straight. See the picture below. The magazines orientation is high lighted in red.

My reasoning for doing it this way:

    1) I cannot conceal anything that is mounted around my 9o'clock or 3o'clock area. It is just the way my hips made

    2) I am faster reloading from my centerline than I am from my hip. The actual movement for the reload is, my hands bring the blaster into my workspace and my left and drops straight down to the mag. Rather than having to shift back to my 9o'clock position.

    3) Look at where most USPSA open class shooters keep their first reload. Roughly this same area with the magazine canted in the same direction. I am hoping to apply this idea but in a IWB mag holder.

I like the angle of that. I currently carry my reload in a vertically oriented Kydex IWB and it is more uncomfortable than the pistol when seated for long periods (using a High Noon Mr Softy until my Shaggy arrives ). I even threw a couple layers of moleskin on it, but it still digs in.

Turns out it works very well in the SmartCarry too. I tied the cord off fairly short and slipped it over one of the straps on the SmartCarry. The Zack doesn't add any bulk or impede holstering in any way, and it comes off every time on the draw. The only thing that's different is, I have to draw the gun up higher (nearly to my pecs) before the Zack releases. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this. It's definitely improved my comfort level with the SmartCarry. I also had a very good experience with the purchase.

Can't remember what TV show I saw it on (maybe Burn Notice or Kojack) one of the character was cross carying AIWB. Has anyone tried this?

Received my Shaggy today. It is for my G26. I am really surprised how comfortable the holster is. I was a little concerned about it digging in as others have. So far so good. The quality is top notch.

I got my "Shaggy" the other day and find that the absolute best place happens to be right where the first belt loop off the center is.

Does anyone have the leather loops option? Any thoughts on whether that would provide any extra flexibility on the placement of the holster and what I'm giving up if I do that?

Or, should I just tough it out and wait until I get used to it?

In general though, I'm super surprised at how well it hides. I was out all day with it on and to me it felt like a tumor on my belly - sort of like the tumor on my hip when I first started carrying, I guess. I thought for sure someone would see it or something would blow my "cover". Nothing. Nobody noticed at all, and it was WAY easier to deal with.

All in all, I think I like appendix carry - I just need to figure out how it works for me and get used to it.

    Thanks -

    bob

Getting used to it is the key. When I first started carrying IWB it took quite a while to get used to it. Same thing is going to be true for appendix carry. Give it some time before making a bunch of changes.

That is/was my only gripe with my Looper. Depending on the loop configuration of the pants it's sometimes hard to get it in my sweet spot. I've ordered a shaggy with the leather loops hoping that will fix that. I should be getting it in the next few weeks.

I carry in this way all the time. Glock 19 or 23 in a high noon holster. I find it to be comfortable and makes the firearm easily accessible. The biggest advantage in availability of my weapon is when I'm driving. I can be strapped in with my seat belt and still have no problems quickly accessing my Glock.

I'd like to purchase a CCC Shaggy and have a couple of questions. What's the difference between the Standard and the Kydex loop for the belt clip? Does anyone have any experience with the leather loops? Is the heat shield much thicker than the comfort shield?

    Thank you.
