My problem is that I have a weird body shape. As my buddies say I have good “child berthing hips”. The only way I can ever conceal something is if it is from my 11-1 oclock position of in the small of my back. This has made it hell to conceal an extra magazine.

I have tried a couple of different options form blade-tech, comptac, CCC etc and non of them really fit the bill. So I read up on it and tried making my own kydex AIWB pouch. What I came up with looks very similar to the RCS mag holder (only this wasn’t a 4 week wait).

So far I have had no problems with it. I feel the magazine, but it is not uncomfortable.

I can access it with both hands and it is very easy to move outer clothes out of the way to get at the mag.

If I'm not mistaken, I think most holster makers recommend against carrying a double stack mag IWB. A good alternative might be the pancake style mag pouch Andrews Leather makes. It can be carried OWB and is very confortable and very concealable. I own one and it works well. So much so that I even carry my single stacks mags in one of his single stack mag pouches.

Any ideas why? I have never heard that before and not my curiosity is peaked.

The problem I have is I can only conceal things in my 11-1 region.

Things that are OWB from my experience become a no go because they bulge to much when AOWB.

If I put things on my hips and back area it sticks out like a boner in sweat pants.

I am not pursuing the AIWB mag pouch out of desire. I am doing it because to date, there is no other place I can hide shit at.

I carry a double stack mag (MP45C or a 9C) and a SF G2 bezel up IWB in a Raven rig. Like you I've tried every mag combo out there and the only one that's comfortable is this rig with the rigid overhooks. I do have to go up 2 pant sizes and wear suspenders under my shirt. If I don't the holster and pouches slide too far down off my waist when I sit.

The holster makers that I have dealt with, IIRC, have stated that carrying a double stack gun IWB and then a double stack mag IWB is simply too much too ask for. You can only get so much inside your trousers. One or the other should be OWB. But in any event, as I mentioned previously, take a look at Andrews Leathers pancake mag carrier. I'll bet that would solve your problem.

So I traded my Glock 22 for a 19 today which I had been wanting to do (thought I might be working somewhere where .40cal is the issue but looks like its going to be somewhere else with 9mm). I ordered an looper from CCC but I haven't gotten it yet and I ordered it for a full size and with an FBI cant, I would like to change it but I don't know if I can. So today I ordered a hooker from Alabama holster company today with straight drop. Any who here is how the 19 carries with a crappy nylon black hawk holster I had laying around. I still got to get over the fact that I am flagging my meat and two veg but overall I am comfortable and love the quick presentation and concealment of appendix carry. EDIT: Rich at CCC contacted me and let me change my Order which is awesome and outstanding customer service!n

I was all set to order the shaggy too but can't obviously so I went with the 360 from alabama holster...they're both relatively cheap so I'll order a Shaggy when he starts taking orders again and then test'em both and keep the one i like.

    Hey Gang,
I have a bit of experience carrying AIWB. I started it back in 1995...as it was the grunge days in Seattle and it was a good way to hide a gun under a flannel shirt or a hoodie. I used an Uncle Mike's faux suede clip holster back in those days...in fact I still have it in my, "holster box." It's really ratty, and the front sight wore a hole in it, but it could still work if needed.

I primarily carry two different guns AIWB, a Glock 19 and a Smith 642 or 649. At work I wear scrubs, and thus I don't have the luxury of a belt to hold up my pants, so I wear the 642. Revolvers, at least for me, are much more comfortable to wear all of the time in AIWB and be completely forgettable. As I've, "rediscovered," my fitness, the Glock has become easier to AIWB as well.

I have a CCC, "Shaggy," on the way for my M&P, on the recommendation of so many of you, here. It's slated for arrival in a few weeks. The following pics are the rigs I use currently for AIWB.

This is the Tucker, "Cover UP," for the j-frame. This is my FAVORITE j-frame holster of all time. Incidentally, it is also the ONLY, "tuckable," IWB I've ever been able to use well, no doubt because of the diminutive size of the gun. But, it works. I have it on in the Vicker's AK class pics, under my, "Jews for Bacon," and Team Zissou shirt, and I just look like a fat guy with his shirt bloused. It blends in well. It is also adjustable for cant, and I like to wear it tipped back, muzzle forward. It's my, "lowest profile," gun and rig.

This is a Glock 19 in a Dale Fricke Archangel. I like this rig alot too. Of course, kydex is never as comfortable as leather, but the reholster is very positive, as well as the presentation being fast. I have big mitts, so I DO have to jam my hand down to get my whole hand on the gun, but it is a rehearsed move, and it isn't a hinderance to me honestly. I've worn this rig into many places that I would've normally opted for the j-frame and the Tucker, as shown above. It hides well under just a t-shirt, and it is easily removed if needs be, but secure on the belt with the Bladetech snap loops.
