eotech g33 and aimpoint pro questions

I have a PRO and absolutely love it.
I want to get a good magnifier and this looks like a great candidate.
Seems to line up well, swings to the right keeping my PRO sights free.
What's the drawbacks and what other options are in the same price range.
Any real world experience would be good to hear.

The drawback IMO is that it's a large and heavy setup. The magnified Pro dot is a tad disappointing too.

I guess it depends on your uses.

Weight is a concern for sure. It's a DD m4, and I have a socom 556 rc2 suppressor on the end.
If I get it it will live in my chest rig till I need some extra range. I've heard that the distance allows you to hit an extra hog or two.

I shot that arrangement in a 2 day rifle course with Larry Vickers this past fall. The weight didn't bother me. It's close enough to the butt that it only adds a little to the swing weight. Drawbacks are few IMHO. I use it on four different rifles. It sucks with my 4moa T-1. Dot is nice and crisp on my PRO.

I used one at a suppressor demo and was extremely impressed at the range extension of the carbine.
It's the final piece of a very nice build out. After spending so much $, I am just a bit hesitant to drop the last $530 on it. Guess I'm just looking for some reassurance that the purchase doesn't have unintended drawbacks. Haven't used one in the field and am depending on feedback.

Can't think of what those unintended consquences might be. Flip of a lever and the thing comes right off. It doesn't change POI, doesn't really change FOV. Ejected brass hits it but it doesn't affect rifle function It magnifies the dot, and if you have astigmatism it will magnify the blobbiness of the dot I guess. In the Vickers course I shot, I mounted the thing for the whole course. Inside 25 yards, I flipped it to the side. 25 yards and out I flipped it in. It does add weight, but I carry the rifle on a sling so that wasn't a problem.Worked great. The only unintended consequences I suffered was that Larry thought that I should be grouping better if I was using a magnifier.

I have two G33s; they're certainly well worth the purchase. I just have my Pro mounted on an AR that I'm least likely to use the magnifier on. It works but it's my least favorite arrangement.

Lol. Mr Larry would have said that. Good motivator for sure. Thanks for your feedback.

Just so I understand, you like the g33 and would like your pro better if the g33 was mounted as well?
I've never shopped dvor. Are they legitimate? It's hard to find such a good price. Optics planet won't take any discount on them. Says the 530 is cost and will not further discount. All the good prices are on somewhat sketchy sites, that when googled, most reviews warn against doing business with.
I know I'm asking alot, but can you tell me that I should buy it and rig it behind my pro, and dvor is legitimate.
If so, I'll pull 5he trigger and make the move. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but have been woosing out badly.
