Mm, I’ve never heard of the BE Meyers 249F. Just checked it out and think that would be a sweet set-up. The only concern I’d have is whether cutting the barrel down that much would affect reliable functioning of the rifle. I remember stressing quite a bit about cutting my first ARX’s barrel down to 14.5”. I spoke with Beretta extensively before hand and, essentially, they told me that they had no idea whether the barrel shortening would hurt the function of the rifle. So, in the end, I said F it and sent the barrel to ADCO. Zero issues since. I do recall reading about a guy on the Berreta forum who had his 16” barrel cut down to 10.5” and he had to make intensive modifications to the system to make the rifle cycle properly. This was before Berreta offered their OEM 10.5” barrel. I’d love to hear back from you if you do carry out the barrel mod.

It is good to go down to 12.5 I believe in its current form...
If you go to 10.5" from a 16"...N setting because normal....S because suppressed....on a 16" S-standard/normal and N-non-standard/adverse...
Well then, I guess when I pick up another ARX I’ll have that barrel chopped to 13.7”. Thank you for the info.

Boom.
I have toyed with the idea of chopping the barrel on my ARX myself because the damn 10.5 barrel on Botach is so expensive... If someone does it, post pics!
I just got off the phone with Beretta customer service. I asked if the ARX 100 is discontinued. I was told no. It is not discontinued. The reason they appear to be is due to the fact that the manufacturing plant has moved to Tennessee. They are currently focusing on handgun models and expanding out into other models in the future. I asked about factory support and accessories for the ARX and was told that factory support will continue and that new products such as barrels etc. are anticipated in the future. I also asked about complaints that some owners have had about accuracy. As I expected the answer is that the ARX is not designed for high accuracy and long range shooting. It was designed for mid range to close quarter use, quick and easy disassembly, low maintenance and reliability. Pretty obvious, but I asked anyway since many owners have some odd expectations from the ARX 100.

Honestly,
There are some models of Beretta I love.
The whole centuries of arms making with some descendants still involved fascinates me.
But there are some known things to expect from Beretta-
An active, supported model will have limited parts, accessories, and availability. The cost will be more than for similar items their competitors make. There will be a very limited after market.
Many models will fall into discontinued, gone, sort of discontinued, not discontinued, but not supported.
There are a couple of tactical shotgun models, and the ARX itself in this boat.
Also, the Cougar, 9000S, 90-two, and CX4. With the PX4 still around but mainly kept aloft on the hopes, dreams, and wishes of the company- not actually any serious interest in any large circle. This group will have even worse parts, availability, accessories, and aftermarket.
All of this occurring while largely ignoring their highest potential, flagship model. And on the occasions they did pay attention the efforts were typically something ending in holster incompatibility, sights incompatibility, loss of upper/lower compatibility, or features available alone when wanted together.
If you are a Beretta fan/collector, or enjoy obtaining semiauto versions of issue military carbines, by all means snap one up.
If you are into adopting your new go to platform, expecting a certain level of product viability, options, accessories, support, and product run-
You might as well adopt the SIG556.

Well I'm not a Beretta collector, and I not into obtaining semiauto versions of issue military carbines, but I ordered one anyway last week. They look awesome and have a high level of reliability not to mention I got a great deal on a 16"
So for anyone wondering, I just checked my Top 10 most used online wholesalers and the ARX is not even listed as an available item anymore. It's not simply "out of stock" or "currently unavailable", it's been completely removed as a Beretta product. To me it looks like it's been discontinued and will no longer be available.
Now there was a time when the same thing happened to the HK SL8-1 and we later were offered the SL8-6, but I don't see that happening with the ARX from Beretta.
