    So I bought an LWRC...

Yes...I did. I bought the LWRC M6A5. I got it because I want a piston upper to run on my M16 lower and with what they want for the damn uppers you might as well just buy the whole rifle. Not a fan of the MR556 or the POFs. I was apprehensive about it, it seems like there are alot of ldub haters out there and I have very little firsthand experience with piston ARs. I went and shot it for the first time yesterday zeroing the irons and also a comp m4. I will include the 25 yard zeroing groups. I put 200 rounds of xm193 through it and 90 of BBM branded xm193. Compared to my colt, daniel defense, and aac it did just fine. No issues accuracy wise or reliability wise so far and its enjoyable to shoot. I find myself looking forward to taking it out again. Sitting here cleaning it now and it isn't very dirty, including the piston system. The most alarming thing I've heard concerns accuracy issues. It will be a while before I can get to the long range so I'd like to know from any other owners of recent model LWRCs if there is any validity to this because frankly from the results I got I don't see it being a problem at all but I'm wondering about it. Thanks people!

EDIT- FWIW I would like to add that I ran all generations of pmags through it and there were no issues. To include a mutilated, concrete impregnated gen 1 that we tried to destroy with a humvee when I was in Iraq 2008 because I was even more of an idiot as a young E4 than I am now.

While I do not own a LWRC, I have shot them and have several knowledgeable friends that use them for work as well as sport/recreation. That said, accuracy has never been a complaint. Only down side I see reference the LWRC is price and weight. Piston systems seems to be a bit heavier on the front end. If that doesn't bother you and you dig the rifle, keep rockin' it! I personally stick to D.I. rifles when it comes to 5.56, but that is personal preference. Thank you for your initial review, I hope you post more as you wring it out some more. I would love to see some results with heavier, match grade loads.

Thanks for the info and encouragement. From what I've seen on here I thought I would get mostly upturned noses and snarkiness when I posted this. I'm planning on testing some mk 262 and some commercial match loads next week at the long range when I finally get a freakin day off. I will certainly post the results for everyone and also if I start having issues I'll post them as well.

Humor me... why don't you like POF or the HK? The LWRC system is nice and good to hear you like it.

Honestly it's aesthetics. I was at the shop messing with an MR556 and a POF. I just couldn't get on board with the looks of them. So I bought the LWRC thinking if it sucks I'll dump it and try the POF, then if that sucked try the HK. If you glance at the pic of the LWRC you can see the mk 23 I bought the same day so it isn't a brand loyalty or fanboy thing. I'm a dummy for pretty things and I really like the hand guard, fancy spiral fluted barrel and overall look and feel of the LWRC. After a decade of not having any say in the gear I use professionally and being financially limited personally I thoroughly enjoy having the personal and financial freedom to choose my toys with an eye towards aesthetics. Thank you for the inquiry and your kindness!

Def nothing wrong with what you're saying. I have a SL-M6 and love it... it's the lightest piston you can buy. You shouldn't have a problem with the LWRC and aesthetically speaking the POF is the least good looking one and you can only use their rails. There's good options for the MR if you decide to get one in the future. I have two and one is a SBR. I'll leave these here:

My LWRC is an M6A2 from around 2008. Never any issues, and is as "pretty" an AR pattern rifle as I've handled. I've put thousands of rounds thru it, and as far as accuracy it's been acceptable. I mainly shoot steel silhouette at 2-400 meters. I don't measure group sizes, just want to see the target fall.

Where it differs from say, my colt, is it is noticeably heavier, and the felt recoil is greater. Not to mention it is more $$$. One thing to consider re: cost...it came with a free float quad, VLTOR stock, Magpul grip and trigger guard, and Troy flip buis.

    Never had mag issues.

It is a shooter, for sure.

Holy shit, yours are beautiful. The MR at my shop had a keymod hand guard on it and it was hideous. What kind of case is that on the mk 23? I went with an octane 45 and surefire x400 with mine, adapters be damned.

So the MR you saw may have been a CR556 and has HK's version of the Keymod system(slots face the opposite direction). That comes with no sights, Magpul CTR, "CR556" engraved in the receiver, OSS muzzle brake and the hand guard. Geissele makes a nice hand guard for the MR/CR series rifle in the event you ever decide to go HK.

The Tan case is a HK Eagle soft case... they're pricey if you can find them still. I shoot an Octane myself, it's a great can. With that said, you'll probably like the LWRC. It's a good system.
