    Visit your national guard armory and you'll see plenty of badly maintained Reagan era A2's on their original carrier that work just fine.

    That's pretty old. Have you noticed any play in the bolt due to the chrome lining in the carrier wearing down?

    I don't know how many rounds were fired on it, because it's a collectible piece and I haven't personally used it yet. I would be curious to know what would wear down the hard chrome, since the gas rings are about all that makes contact inside, and they wear down.

    That basically answers my question. I was thinking that the rings might wear into the chrome eventually. Guess not
