I Saw This Post Knocking Colt, DD, Noveske and BCM

"Del ton sells parts to all those companies. (This statement was directed at Colt, Noveske, Daniel Defense, BCM extolling the quality of Del Ton)

"Windham makes better ARs than Colt, DD etc. And a few of us are better educated than most on how to build a AR. Mil spec is just a standard which all those companies meet unless noted on certain parts or AR builds. It ain't rocket science. You go ahead and pay for the name only. Just what I know."

    Your thoughts?

P.S. From what I gathered the above came about as a result of a poster referring to Bushmaster, Del Ton, DPMS as 2nd and 3rd tier AR's.

That's to be expected from a HiPoint Forum.

It's hard to argue with stupid. . .

A person making definite statements like that is not willing to have an adult discussion, but is looking for an argument. The best way to play that game is to not play at all.

    Parts are not all parts.

My city has a fleet of several thousand vehicles. There is a separate department within the city government to maintain this fleet of vehicles. When I go there and walk through one of the garages, some of the tool boxes are bigger than my couch. I see a lot of Snap On wrenches in the tool boxes. I have yet to see any of these mechanics buy their wrenches or socket sets from "Big Lots" or "The Dollar Store". I can't understand why? They're just paying for the name, aren't they? After all, we all know that all wrenches and socket sets are the same. They're secretly made in the same plant and re-branded. Only a fool would buy the name brand tools...

Even though I am not a mechanic, if I said this with a straight face, most would call me an idiot on the spot. Yet many are trying to apply the same logic to the AR world?

My personal experience is that arguments like the OP referenced is being made by someone who is trying to justify their purchase. These same people will spend a lot more time arguing about their choice of AR then actually shooting their AR. And shooting a few empty beer cans on the farm and actually training with your gun are not the same.

I've tried to give advice to young officers wanting to purchase a Patrol Rifle. I show them how to do so without spending much money. A basic Colt 6920 and a few simple add on essentials and they're set. Then they ignore what I showed them, and buy something else. Often spending more in the process. Then they want me to fix their M&P that is short stroking, or their whatever brand that has some issues. I no longer offer advice, unless I actually feel that the person is actually wiling to listen.

I'm at the point in my life where, just like those penguins on the kids movie, "The penguins from Madagascar", I just smile and waive... Life is too short to spend it arguing with stubborn people.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same idiot who posted the following on TOS a couple of days ago:

I think consensus is that most BCM barrels are over gassed.

I'd say "You keep buying Bushmaster and Del Ton and I'll keep buying Colt and BCM, we can both be happy."

To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.

That surprises me not. Have heard claims that UTG is better than Trijicon. Bersa is on the cutting edge of gun tech(cutting edge of suck i assume if my experience and those who have out and out destroyed the damn things is any clue) and countless other things. I'd eloborate more but internet is down here and i am not wanting to run my 0hone dead on a rant.

That's really all there is to it. Buy what you want and call it a day. No point in arguing about someone else's purchases.
