Mine just arrived. Yes, it cost $250, no, I don't think there is a better QD solution available.

Looks like a lot of screws holding it together. 16 if I count right. Sorry but the modular design with 12 extra screws doesn't trump a one piece with cap screws only to me.

You wouldn't be running this on a rifle with the barrel and recoil assembly attached with nuts, and an operating system thay has the gas intake bolted in place on the carrier, by chance, would you?

Well I hope you never ride in a Car, Plane, Motorcycle, bike, baby buggy... etc

Nothing wrong with fasteners as long as they are thread locked and properly torqued.

Right now you will not find a better QD than Bobro as countless test have proven.

So lock-tite on the castle nut and key are OK if properly torqued? Can you have your cake and eat it too? Sorry guys but that mount reminds me of an erector set project I did when I was five years old.

    Derp...

Technically a properly torqued castle nut does not need thread locked or need to be staked. Just ask KAC...

SWFA has their own branded bobro 30mm mount for 210.00 for what it's worth. haven't found it yet for a better price. I absolutely love mine.

You should see what's INSIDE the scope INSIDE the mount! Hell, it's even got glass and springs in thar!

Running AP, for all my fixed mounts. Light weight, and rock solid on a 556 rifle. I've been down the QD road and it's more heavy than I'd like. If you aren't switching optics often or have different AR set ups for various mission requirements I'd suggest a fixed AP. Own a 14.5 BCM KMR with a Vortex HD / AP mount that is lighter than most other set ups out there. YMMV

I went with a lighter scope, and heavier mount. (7.5oz QD).
