    Looks good. If I didnt want a full top rail, this is the way I would go.

    I took those pics to demonstrate how the covers look. I actually run that rail slick now, but it does get very slippery when wet and you have to wear gloves if shooting a lot.

    They are textured which aids in grip. Also they are plastic, the weight is negligible.

    In cold you never want to touch and hold metal for long period of time especially not aluminum. Wearing anything less than artic mitten the cold will get through glove and to your hand. Plastic help tremendously. I speak from first hand experience like always unless stated otherwise.

    I'll second this, even though my SE Texas version of cold is barely below freezing.
