    Scope too tall?

Hey guys! reaching out to you for some advice/help.
I have a Trijicon Accupower on an Aero precision. Love the mount.
I just bought an Aimpoint H1 RDS because I like a simple red dot and wanted to have the ability to go back and forth between the scope and RD depending on the application.

I have a QD rail mount laying around and I was wondering if adding the scope with scope mount to the QD rail for easy attachment would make it too tall with respect to the axis. Would this affect negatively the scope performance?
Here is the picture. just wondering...
    Thanks!

No offense, but why don't you just shoulder your rifle with the QD no longer ultralight mount piggyback setup and see for yourself?

Unless you are talking about ballistics? Then, yes, it will be too high compared to typical ballistics based off of a(n above) bore height of 1.5".

ETA: However, the new height over bore can be plugged into a ballistics calculator/program and make it a none issue.

ETA2: The performance of your optics will be dictated by both the quality of the optics themselves as well as their mounts should their mounts not be integral. In other words, if you put a $2000 scope of ultimate quality in an $80 chinese QD mount (or even more bizarre piggyback setup like you've done) you are now at the mercy of that $80 QD mount (or bizarre piggyback setup) should you ever bump/bruise or even just remove and reattach the $2000 ultimate quality scope risking loss in zero.

yeah talking pure ballistics not if it looks cool or not lol. Not sure how would affect my shooting, I guess would have different drop trajectory? not sure what is acceptable without having crazy numbers that would make it impractical if that makes sense
    Thanks!

You'll probably be shooting with a jaw weld rather than a cheek weld. Why not just use a regular QD mount like ADM, Bobro, Larue etc.? Will your QD rail return to zero if you plan on swapping between scope and red dot?

I don't see how it would not work. I've seen Vietnam era A1 rifles with scopes mounted on the carry handle, and it seemed to work for them.

    Step 1: Clear the weapon.

Step 2: Chunk the chicom riser.

Step 3: Put the H1 on a 45°... if you must.

Why not sell both optics and get a 1xWhatever with a lit reticle?

I personally would mount up the H1 only and call it a day.

I have a long face apparently. i had this rail when I had my Eotech to get proper cheek weld.
The QD is an Alamo four star. This thing its so spot on that even without tightening there is no play in any direction. Yeah it would return to zero as good as anything out there ;-)
I was asking before I already have them! easier to sell all but definitely an option
    Thanks!

weapon is clear, no round in the chamber ;-) I like to keep it in condition 3 to avoid the round manipulation every time I'm going to shoot with FMJ

Taking the scope off and being able to put the H1 makes it very light; didn't want to add the H1 to the scope set up as it would be more weight and can use the scope when going to friends ranch and thinking about shooting some 3 gun in the future
    Thanks!

If it were mine I would ditch the work-around and go with an actual QD scope mount.
