    Bullet button

I have a new Armalite on the way in but is the CA version with the bullet button. As I don't live in CA I need to change that asap. I don't have the gun yet so I can't inspect the release and I've never seen a bullet button. Can anyone tell me what parts I need to order and if I will need a removal tool? I did a search but there seems to be more than one style. Also can anyone suggest one brand over another for a replacement?
    Thanks

If they are using a "regular" bullet button, You will need a new magazine release spring, and the magazine release button. Most bullet buttons utilize a standard magazine catch.
(By regular, I mean the most common design)

To remove a "regular" bullet button, you will need a small flat head screw driver and most likely a dental pick. The bullet button is essentially a metal sleeve slipped over the magazine catch. Then a smaller spring is inserted followed by a nut. The nut screws onto the threaded portion of the magazine catch and usually has two slots where a flat head screw driver can grab onto it. Hopefully the image link below helps some. If not, I can try and snap some pictures.

Sounds like an opportunity to pick up an ambi-catch.

Drop $90 on a Norgan. That makes a lot of sense.

Yeah its super easy...one of my first tasks upon moving from Commiefornia to a free state was removing my bullet buttons and tossing them in the trash....And it felt dam good!

I installed a BB on an AR before spending a summer working a good paying contract in Cali. A hex key was needed for installation & removal. To install a standard mag release, you'll need a standard button and I think spring. If I recall, the BB I had used a standard mag catch

    Bullet button

Funny thing, I'm actually debating about putting a bullet button on one of my ARs...

It is a .45, which I have a Macon Armory HK UMC magazine block adapter. The adapter has a lever release out of the bottom, and the standard magazine release holds the block in.

I'm likely only running the .45 upper on that lower, but I'm unsure if I want to add that in case I want to toss a different upper on. First world problems, right?

First go to the range and experience what I have to thanks to California's stupid law! Of course the full on experience wouldn't be totally fulfilled without a couple of 10 round mags. As other's have mentioned, the swap out is very easy.
