I have always been happy with BCM barrels. I'd jump on that price.

Once you factor in the P&W job ($30 from ADCO), you aren't saving much money

Went ahead and ordered this. I have a 12" ALG Defense Mlok DDC rail that will go on it, BCM upper receiver and BCG. Will order a complete BCM lower soon. I'm deciding between Troy and Magpul Pro sights now.

I've got 2 rifles built with this barrel and it's perfect for a lightweight, quick handling carbine. As I built mine a couple years ago they both have 12" Centurion rails and Battlecomps, T-1's and CTR's. They are right at 6 lb's unloaded. They have never been sub MOA but are solid 2-4 inch guns depending on ammo and real world conditions.

I get great results with the LW barrel on my BCM 14.5" middy. Comparing that to the AR it replaced which was a RRA 16" HBAR carbine.
As for 14.5", I agree that 1" isn't much in terms of maneuverability but it makes for a much lighter and balanced rifle IMHO.
Most of my other 16" carbine ARs have brakes & comps I've swapped over the years but in IMHO my BCM middy is such a soft shooter all it needs is an A2. I've had mine for three or four years now and it's still my favorite, never regretted not going with a 16".

But he needs to pin and weld anyway, or else run a clean muzzle, due to poor choice of residence. If forced to do that, 14.5" is a no-brainier.

in that case, yeah, might as well go 14.5

Just some more feedback for you
I have a BCM 14.5 standard LW upper with permed BCM Comp fixed front sight etc. I have gotten sub MOA accuraccy at 100 yds with this barrel and match ammo, not the way I typically shoot this upper, but I have done it

Here is a picture of my BCM build so far. BCM upper with a Surefire comp p/w, 12" ALG Defense DDC Mlok rail, Arisaka Defense finger stop. Not in the picture, but I just added black TROY BUIS. When I figure out what flashlight is going to be mounted, this will be complete. I'm keeping an eye out for a good deal on a complete BCM lower. I'll update with another pic when It's complete. Thanks for all the replies.
