    Replacing Aimpoint Pro Flip-Up Cover

I need to remove the front flip-up cover from my Aimpoint Pro. I'm replacing it with the transparent cover from Aimpoint. Any tricks for removing the old one and for putting on the new one?

Pull slowly, with great force, and twist. They are on there very tight.

Why would you put a clear cover on the front of an AimPoint?

If you shoot with both eyes open, you can shoot with the front cap closed. Granted you have a better sight picture with it open, but more than useable closed.

Why do you think AimPoint supplies the black front cap? You don't need to see through the sight to use it. If you cannot function with the cap down you don't have a clue how to use a RDS. If I were teaching you to use a dot sight and it had a clear or no front cover I would put tape over it. Think before you type.

The H2 and T2 come with clear claps front and rear. I know the Aimpoint site shows the T2 with a black front cover, but the one I bought came with clear caps on both ends. Even if they didn't I would replace them with clear caps if they were available. I'm aware you can shoot with the front blocked, buy why would you choose to do so when you don't have to?

Because you don't need to. Why do you need caps on a RDS anyway?

GH41, you seem a little angry. If someone wants clear caps or no caps, that's their prerogative. I keep caps on mine to help protect an expensive optic. I have no problem shooting with the black cap, so I see no need to replace it. If I felt like spending the money for a clear one, I'm sure it would make for a better field of view. That's what the op is looking for, not a beat down.
