    I always thought the clear rear lens was great. I get how the lenses closed, both eyes open scenario works. I too have wondered why not clear on both ends? Other than cost is there a plus to the black forward cap over clear?

    You realize that someone can see the red dot when the rifle is pointed at them in the dark? You can give your position away. With the black cap on and both eyes open, you can be in stealth mode and still have a bead on your target.

    Better field of view is what I was going for. I have two Pro's, one with the black cap and now one with the clear cap. And I do like the protection that the caps offer. Just something that I wanted to see how they compare. Thanks for everyone's thoughts.

    The "Occluded" red dot aka using a black front cap should be for emergency (and really close range) use only.
