I'm fine with a FSB mount just don't want it extending into muzzle blast of the A2

I guess the best question to ask is what light do you want to use.

Almost any light using a FSB mount is gonna be in the range of the muzzle...that's not a wide distance.

I've used a Mapgul SL handguard with a Surefire G2X mounted in an HSP Thorntail SBR, which was mounted to their M-LOK cantilever light mount. Not exactly elegant, but it was what I had on-hand.

The Thorntail raised the light high enough that I could use it with either hand, and I could have pulled it back further to avoid a closer muzzle. A Mini Scout would be a much better light to use in that position, though, considering how short it is. Your light choice obviously depends on your needs, but the M300 would fit nicely.

Look in the Arisaka thread. Maybe a Mlok mount would work. I've got a Keymod ring mount that I like and will be ordering their Mlok mount soon.

This was mentioned in the Arisaka thread and may work for you. http://www.impactweaponscomponents.c...ht-mount-1-00/

Well now the pic changes things...

You will need to check into the various offset mounts that are available. I know Magpul has some that mount right up to the fore end you are using. The Mount-n-slot from Impact weapons is also an option.

Check out Impact Weapon Components (IWC) website, they make several different Haley Strategic (HSP) mounts that will work on your set-up. They are all good mounts at a good price point.

I have one of those haley strategic lights. I forget what its called but its small and bright. It came on a 45 degree offset and with one of those magpul forward grips underneath its perfect.
