Probably not. As soon as my finger comes off the trigger and I bring it out of the trigger well, the first joint on my finger (where the index finger connects to your hand) pushes it on safe. It's just becomes a habit and a quick and fluid motion.
As soon as I have the target in my site and as my finger goes in the trigger well my thumb disengages the safety. It's quicker than the traditional safety.

It only works smoothly with the 45 degree safety. The 90 degree safety rubs a blister on the side of my index finger joint.

    I recently went through this.

Difference was I had some spare parts around. Big one being a Daniel Defense RIS II, and Geissele G2S trigger. Those and a B5 SOPMOD stock made an awesome little rifle.

Now if I had to buy parts I'd buy a Troy Industries 13" M-Lo rail. They are 200$ or less depending on seller price.

This rail can be installed one of two ways. One is totally take it apart, to include the barrel nut, this will allow you to easily remove the delta ring and hand guard cap, and grind down the gas block off the barrel.

Now you can also grind the gas block and cut/removes the delta ring and hand guard cap assembled. IDK if one way is easier than the other, the later probably requires less real tools, but more of the bubba gunsmith mentality.

Either way good buy, imo the 6720 is the best value on the market.

Why not shoot the piss out of it first and then decide what you actually want to change?
    This.

And after said piss is shot out of it, I think you would find value in any of BCMs offerings of charging handles.

I'm not sure how many rnds constitutes "the piss" but I did find shooting my 6940 stock for a year or so a valuable approach coming from a clunky BM that had a bunch of junk on it (in my defense it was all given to me) and unwise to the ways of the AR. Time spent on M4C is what really helped straighten my major malfunctions. I wanted to at least put a decent RDS on it, but held off, and when I did add the RDS, it was that much better in terms impact on my shooting it and appreciation for what an RDS can do. The BCM GF charge handle seems one of the best values out there in terms of $ spent to benefits had from my minimal AR experience and minimalist approach

Can't change the rails on the 6940, but for my needs, that's fine.

Pretty much what I've done with my 6920. The only thing I did right away was add an Aimpoint Patrol as iron sights and I just don't get along much anymore. I used the 6920 to "reintroduce" myself to the AR design. Shot it a bunch and then started adding more rifles and trying out different sight/scope combinations, stocks, handguards, etc..
