Help me decide on a hard use 1-4

After being away from rifles for a while I'm fixing to pull the trigger on a KAC SR-15 Mod 2 with the 16in barrel and I'm looking for the best hard use 1-4 or 1-6 that's not retard money. Obviously if I had the cash to throw down it would be a short dot, but I don't.

The optics I'm looking at are the USO SR4C and the Trijicon Accupower. I may be able to steal a Leupold MK6 1-6 as well. The big things I'm looking for are durability and daylight visible reticle, so that may rule out the Accupower.

Initially the rifle/optic will be used for a home defense/class/competition/ rifle but down the road it will be used as a duty gun, regardless though, durability and reliability are my primary concern.

I know you generally get what you pay for and US Optics has a reputation of quality and durability so I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Accupower is half he optic at half the price (at least in some regard).

Also, does US optics offer any sort of mil/Leo discount if purchased directly from them?

What are you looking to spend?

As far as the Accupower goes, the ones I've looked through seemed plenty bright to me.

Are you concerned about weight at all? The Vortex Razor HD Gen II 1-6x is a very nice scope and you could buy the scope and any mount you like and still be well under your budget.

That optic with the mil-hash reticle is my #1 choice for a 1-6x right now. It is a little heavy, but regardless of price, I like everything else about it, and at the price, it's a steal. I've got 2, and I'm trying to convince myself I don't need another.

    Used Bushnell 1-6 SFP BTR-2
    Steiner 1-4 rapid dot
Gen 2 Razor with Mrad reticle
Bushnell 1-8.5 BTR2 FFP (can be found for $1k on ebay & GB)
    NF NXS 1-4
    Used S&B Short dot
Kahles 6i with reticle of choice

From lowest to highest price, Have used them all and would trust them all to my life. The Bushnell & Gen 2 are the best bang for your buck depending on if you want FFP @ 8.5x or SFP @ 6x. Kahles and Short dot are the best products out there, but are maybe 5-10% better than the Gen 2 & Bushy 8.5. Not enough performance gain to justify price IMO. The Steiner is also a very solid product if you can live with 4x. They can be found for around $700 if you shop around.

Last consideration would be CQBBS. Military price is around $2400 so you may be able to find a used on or stretch your budget a bit.

Weight isn't a concern at all. I hadn't even considered Vortex. A few years ago a close friend was sponsored by them and had wondering zero issues with multiple different optics from them, and while they were all fixed it left a sour taste for me.

Does S&B still manufacture the 1.1-4 short dot? I see euro optics doesn't have any. I'm fine with a max of 4 power and would definitely consider picking up a used one.

Accupower isn't daylight bright, but the reticle is bold enough that it doesn't matter unless you are shooting at a black wall. Even then, I can usually pick it out.
