I think you might be right. I have a bottle of the regular Slip 2k and I think it's veggie based. It's also thicker, goopier, and freezier than EWL. Had it freeze/goop up in a Glock I left sitting on a range table while I shot other guns.

    Give EWL a shot.

As for application, I slather that crap on there and go to town, as I do with any lube. I find Slip's claim of continued lubrication post-dry to be suspect, and while it may be true on a theoretical level (maybe it leaves behind some chemical coating a la teflon?), I don't plan on trying it out.

Liberal application for all lubes for me.

Two quotes from the Slip2000 FAQ page. "Yes. All of our lubricants are 100% synthetic." and "Yes. All of our lubricants and grease are compatible with each other."

Interesting. I guess the standard is not veggie based. Sure looks like it.

We can always count on another great lubricant discussion.

Some have reported a stinging sensation, so use with caution.

Don't get it in the "eye" and you should be fine.

Pouring large amounts of any gun lubricant directly onto your eyeballs should be avoided if possible.
